Is this to many pills to take?

I am 19 years of age and I am curious if my liver or any body part would be in harm if I keep taking these pills. I don’t take any prescription meds, instead I take natural over the counter products. They are:

2 GNC multivitamin pills (which it recommends two a day)
3 milk Thistle Caps(Since I worry that I take too much pills lol)
15 Fiber Pills from Metamucil (which they say is recommended on the bottle)
1200 mg Sam-e for my bipolar (natural antidepressant)
3 Fish oil tablets that are 1,000mg (I usually take this since its good for heart health)
2 Colon Cleanse tablets once every two months
2.5 Mg Melatonin for insomnia
Calcium/Magnesium for insomnia which is 500 mg daily
1 Super B-Bomplex from Nature Made
5 Cinnamon Pills that are 500 mg
2 Apple Cidar Vinegar tablets that are 600 mg each

Is this bad? Could I do this my whole life or? Any help would be great. Thank you.

I understand that you are very health oriented. However, I will state what I believe is right:
All drugs go through the liver first, to be broken down, before going to the rest of the body. The doctors and researchers do not know all the side effects or interactions medications have to one another. The interactions may appear right away, or they may appear in the future. There are not many restrictions on herbal medications…most are not approved of by the FDA and are not regulated well. They are not researched well enough to know how they act with other drugs or the long term effect they will have on the body.

There are two types of Vitamins…those that are soluble in water and those that are soluble in lipids. The water soluble ones move through the body much faster and are disposed of in the urine, if you take too much. However, the lipid soluble ones move alot slower through the body and some are even stored by the liver. These lipid soluble ones can go toxic in the body and cause liver cell damage and other conditions if they are taken in excess. Be sure to look at
the labels of what you are taking and compare them to other medications you have. You can accidentally take too many of one kind. Excess minerals in the body can also be a problem. Too much calcium or magnesium can cause trouble, also. Many of these vitamins/minerals are in the foods and drinks we eat…adding more would not be good then, if what you are taking in by the eatting and drinking is causing it to go higher.

It is really best to have blood testings done before going on any medications. The doctor can tell you what your body is lacking and what maybe alright for you to take. This is wise to be under the doctors care for this….as he can spot if you are overdosing, if something doesn’t seem right on your blood tests to catch it in time before it can become more serious in nature. Over the counter meds, herbal supplements, and even certain foods can interact with
what drugs you may be taking from the doctor office or even other drugs in the same catagory as what you listed.

Some people who take medications on their own, end up in the ER and because the doctors have no idea that they have taken medications or what those medications are…it is difficult to diagnose them and confirm whether or not , what they may have, is caused by the medications or something else.
