What is the best cure for compacted stools/colon cleanse?

I have been having a lot of problems with recurring constipation and have wanted to try a colon cleanse to get rid of the compacted stools. I just have a feeling that there are stools that are stuck in my bowels. My diet isn’t terrible but isn’t good either. Without fiber, stools harden and compact.
